What’s Your New Facial Care Cream?

A common question that people have is what ingredients are in facial care cream for dry skin that could make a huge difference in the way that their skin looks. There are many, and here are just a few. Most of them contain ingredients like alcohols and parabens. Alcohols can actually strip the natural oils from your skin and dry it out, while parabens are a preservative that you really don’t need in creams or lotions of any kind.

There are products that contain a facial care cream for dry skin-identical ingredient called dimethicone. What does this ingredient do? It acts like an emulsifier, which means it helps to attract water to the skin-and to keep water from escaping back out of your pores. If you look at any of the ingredients labels on most popular products, you will see that they are mostly made up of petroleum-based alcohols. Mineral oil, petrolatum, and paraffin wax are some of the worst substances that you will find.

Another popular choice in facial care cream for dry skin is what-it-does-to-your-health. You may already know this, because it’s the law. Most of these companies that promise you great results from their products are selling you something that could possibly endanger your health. Perfumes, deodorants, and perfumed body sprays all contain some type of petroleum-based chemical solvent, and many of them are highly toxic.

A component commonly found in all-natural facial care creams for dry skin-is paraben-free. Parabens are a preservative that can form a greasy film that attracts moisture to the skin-thus increasing the chances of a pimple or a blackhead forming. But, most people don’t know that parabens are even classified as irritants by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel. According to the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit organization that poses as an independent scientific organization, parabens are “known to cause allergic reactions, including redness, itchiness, and irritation, sometimes leading to chronic or permanent skin damage.”

A very common ingredient found in non-prescription emollients and perfumes is fragrance. When I say fragrance, I don’t mean a commercial brand at all, but rather a natural substance such as lavender, jasmine, or sandalwood. The FDA says that it’s okay to use fragrance if it’s a natural material, because it’s generally considered safe for the skin. Unfortunately, when it comes to fragrances, there’s a lot of wiggle room.

There are a number of natural oils that are actually considered “solvent soluble” substances. They have the ability to easily penetrate the epidermis, and so they will not clog the pores. Most of the parabens and perfumes are not solvent soluble, but the truth is that when chemicals like preservatives, alcohols, and synthetic fragrance are combined with natural plant oils, all of the components can become too chemically bonded with the skin to be absorbed effectively. This is why it’s important to read the label of any facial cream or lotion that you’re thinking about buying. There are both natural and synthetic fragrances, and you want to make sure that you are buying a facial cream that does not contain any type of parabens or perfume. Facial creams that are primarily comprised of parabens and perfumes also contain emollients and pH balancing agents, which can result in dryness, flaking, and skin-weariness.
