How To Treat Dry Scalp Using Essential Oils

Many people don’t even realize how important it is to know how to treat dry scalp, and I’m here to tell you that it’s not a cosmetic issue. A major cause of dryness is associated with heredity. If you have parents or grandparents who suffer from dry scalp, your chance of getting it is much higher than the chance of someone without a family history.

I remember growing up and my mom having to be diligent about my own hair, because if she didn’t wash it properly she was exposing it to excessive dryness. Now I know that other folks can look at my mom’s actions and think that she had dry scalp – but she didn’t. She just had really bad dandruff.

I’m lucky that I was never stricken with chronic dandruff. For those who are affected by this condition, I can tell you that it can be embarrassing. Dry scalp can cause itching, flaking, cracking, and soreness on the scalp. In some cases, it can be so bad that you can hardly sit down for fear of pulling your hair out.

Unfortunately, most people don’t even realize how to use conditioners on their scalp – but they should. Don’t use just any conditioner, though. The product you choose for your scalp should contain at least 40% essential oils. Here’s why:

Essential oils are good at making hair shinier, softer, stronger, and more resilient. They also make the hair appear shinier and therefore make it look healthier. Essential oils, including tea tree oil, clove oil, lavender oil, bergamot oil, jojoba oil, peppermint oil, and lemon oil, stimulate the scalp’s natural oils. They counteract the dryness by absorbing moisture.

Some of these oils are good for preventing dandruff, but they’re even better if you apply them on a regular basis. I use clove oil every day on my scalp. My dandruff is cured, and my hair looks shiny and healthy.

One more reason why you should use a lotion for your dry scalp is because of the ingredients it contains. Popular ingredients include avocado oil, grape seed oil, and macadamia oil. These oils actually strengthen the scalp and reduce dandruff.

You may be thinking about purchasing certain products for treating your dandruff problem. I think that it’s more effective to use a good all-natural dry scalp treatment that contains the same types of oils as the ones mentioned above. You will see results in as little as one to two weeks!
